The pieces in this collection get photographed far more than they get displayed, and that is exactly the point. A first day of school sign gets held up on a doorstep once a year for a decade; a birth announcement gets carried around a hospital room.
First day of school signs are dry-erase, so the same board covers every year from pre-K onward rather than being replaced annually. Birth announcements are engraved with the name, date, weight and length. Tooth fairy signs and door hangers are sized for small hands.

About these pieces
- What they're made of
- 1/4" birch plywood for signs and larger pieces, 1/8" basswood for raised lettering and fine detail. Both come from local suppliers in the Belton area.
- How they're made
- Laser engraved and cut to order in a home studio — no pre-made blanks. Nothing is cut until the order comes in.
- Personalising
- Names, dates and wording are set before cutting, so anything you send can be engraved. Want something not pictured? Ask.
- Getting it to you
- Usually 3–7 business days to make, plus shipping. Local pickup around Belton, Temple and Salado — message before ordering to arrange it.

I ordered this handmade First Day of School sign for my daughter's first day of third grade and it completely exceeded my expectations. The craftsmanship is beautiful — you can tell a lot of care went into making it. The lettering is clean and vibrant, and the design is both playful and polished. What I really love is that it's reusable — we used dry erase marker to fill in the first day info and it wiped clean without any staining. It's sturdy but lightweight enough for my little one to hold easily. The size is just right for photo ops without overshadowing your child. It arrived quickly, packaged safely, and even had a sweet thank-you note from the seller. Such a thoughtful touch! This is definitely something we'll use year after year, and it's going to be a treasured keepsake. Highly recommend!
I cannot say enough about this board! The first time I submitted the order, I realized after the fact that I messed up. I messaged the seller and she was so quick to respond and cancelled my first transaction so I could resubmit. Once I had the second order submitted, the order process went so quickly! She included such a sweet and personalized note wishing the kids a great year at school. It's crafted so well and the colors are amazing. The items are easily interchangeable.
